Pre-Spring/Summer 2011

Details

Shoes

Black and White. This was the first season my Sarah Burton, I must admit she really followed McQueen's aesthetic in having new shapes and cuts. Light fabrics were the most predominant ones this season and leather were predominant only in the accessories, like in belts, shoes, and bags. Sarah opened this season in a light way, she is indeed is the best person to take over the Alexander McQueen brand. Over the years we have seen all of her work in stores and everyone must admit that they loved it. The focal point of this season was to feature women's figure, from the legs to the hips. The first bohemian collection in Alexander McQueen. All the collection is a must have.

A Look Back of 2007- Menswear

One of McQueen's best menswear collection. The most predominant colors were greys and whites with a touch of light pastels. Every suit was embellished in its own way, some had floral details while others had light prints. Even though there were many feminine touches, McQueen still pull off masculine looks, in some cases I thought that the clothing themselves were trying to be androgynous in a way. Now days we see men wearing cardigans over casual and dress shirts, my guess would be that Alexander McQueen himself provided this trend. This collection was what I consider Lee's wearable point of view in fashion.

Pre-Fall/Winter 2011

Details

Shoes

The pre-collection of Alexander McQueen fall/winter 2011 was inspired by many classic paintings. High quality fabrics and good hand craft is used, not only on the clothing but also on the accessories and shoes, making each piece special. Dark colors were the most present with few greys and metallic ones. A great amount of leather was featured this season, such as bleached copper-ish and normal black leather. Low necklines were all over this collection, in the gowns, shirts and small dresses, but keeping it classy at the same time. This lookbook was from Lee's last unfinished collection.

Shoes of the Day - Armadillo Shoes

The highest heels ever by Lee. One of McQueen's most outstanding collections was spring/summer 2010, in which not only the dresses were amazing but it also featured one of the best heels present by him. The Armadillo shoes are 12 inches tall, with a 10 inch heel and is presented with different prints and patterns. Unfortunately this shoes will not be sold nor a wearable version will be made, so will can only appreciate them by magazines editorials or in some Alexander McQueen stores.

Philip Tracy for McQueen

Great friends and colleges. The most notable collaboration was in spring/summer 2008, in ''LA DAME BLEUE''. All the hats were different in their own way and decorated every model's head in an organic way.
